North of England WSSC CH Show 11/4/2010

Due to double booking of venue with Bedlington Club Judging Seminar, we decided to set a ring up outside. We were rewarded with a lovely garden party type atmosphere. The spring sun shone all day causing a couple of the follically challenged (male!) exhibitors to reach for hats as protection.

It was great to see some new faces both exhibiting and spectating. Not to mention the Bedlington supporters who contributed to the catering profits and were partly responsible for the bacon butties finishing well before the due time!

Lisa Butler and team did a fantastic job in the kitchen keeping us all fed and watered with a vast array of food for all palates.

107 Dogs made 165 Entries with 12 NFC for judge Pam Tew.

There were only 15 absent, 8 of which belonged to 2 exhibitors!

Dog CC and Best in show, gaining his title on the day Mr and Mrs Wakeman’s (SHCH) Sherdrew Echo Point.

Bitch CC and RBIS, winning her 1^st CC Ms Frost’s Bushwacker Atomic Kitten.

Best puppy was Mrs Knowles’ Menstonia Maria beating the Dog, Miss Waddell’s Ferndel Aeron Magregor.

Veteran winners were Ritchie and Bardgett’s Sh Ch Slapestones Rysauryn making his veteran debut and Mrs Holmes’ Cleavehill Aberfa At Nimcol who will go on to represent the society at the Golden Oldie Competition at the end of April.

Best Junior Handler was Louise Butler, beating her brother Matthew who had won the younger age group.

It was nice to see 3 entries in the Breeders stakes class; this was won by Mrs Revill’s Julita kennel.

Royal Canin had generously supplied food for all the winners.
